Shipping Methods & Rates

Standard Shipping (Non-Firearms)

Shipping rates are calculated at checkout based on your location, package weight, and dimensions. We work with USPS, FedEx, and UPS to offer the best available rates. Carrier selection is automatic based on package type and destination.

  • Estimated delivery: 3–7 business days depending on carrier and destination
  • Free shipping: Orders over $100 qualify for free standard shipping on non-firearm items
  • Carrier selection is automatic based on package type and destination

Firearm Shipping

All firearms must be shipped to a licensed FFL dealer — we cannot ship firearms directly to individuals. We ship firearms via FedEx and UPS (carrier selection depends on origin and destination). Shipping costs are calculated at checkout.

Important: Firearms CANNOT be shipped to P.O. boxes. All firearm shipments require adult signature (21+). Allow 1–2 business days for FFL verification before shipment.

Processing Times
  • In-stock items: Orders placed before 2:00 PM MST ship same day (Monday–Friday)
  • After 2 PM or weekends: Ship the next business day
  • Special / distributor orders: Typically 3–5 business days after we receive the item
  • Firearms: Allow 1–2 business days for FFL verification before shipping
  • Weekends & holidays: Orders placed on weekends or holidays are processed the next business day
Shipping Restrictions

Ammunition Restrictions

Ammunition cannot be shipped to the following states due to state law: California, Connecticut, Hawaii, Illinois, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, and Washington D.C. Ammunition is ground-shipped only — no air shipments. You must be 21+ to receive ammunition. Adult signature required upon delivery.

Firearm Restrictions

  • Firearms can only be shipped to licensed FFL dealers
  • We cannot ship firearms to individuals (except C&R license holders for eligible firearms)
  • Some states have additional restrictions on certain firearm models
  • Age verification required: 21+ for all firearms (Colorado law, C.R.S. §18-12-112)

State-Specific Restrictions

Some states restrict specific items (high-capacity magazines, certain rifle configurations, suppressors, etc.). It is your responsibility to know your state and local laws. We reserve the right to cancel any order that would violate applicable law.

Firearm Shipping Details

When purchasing a firearm, you must provide the name and FFL license number of your receiving dealer. We will contact the receiving FFL to verify their license before shipping. Alternatively, firearms purchased at our facility are transferred here — Colorado's 3-day waiting period applies.

Firearm transfers at the receiving FFL are subject to that dealer's transfer fee and your home state's background check requirements. These are separate from our shipping charges.

Long Guns

Rifles and shotguns may be shipped to FFL dealers in all states (subject to state-specific restrictions on models)

Handguns

Handguns must be shipped to an FFL dealer in the buyer's home state. In-person purchase at our facility is allowed for Colorado residents

Tracking & Delivery

You will receive a shipping confirmation email with your tracking number once your order ships. Most carriers provide real-time tracking. For firearm shipments to FFL dealers, the receiving dealer will typically contact you when the firearm arrives.

Delivery attempts: if you're unavailable for delivery, most carriers will leave a notice and attempt delivery again. For firearms requiring adult signature, coordinate with the receiving FFL dealer for pickup.

Lost or Damaged Shipments

If your shipment arrives damaged, document the damage immediately and do not discard the original packaging — it's required for carrier claims. Contact us within 48 hours of delivery at info@blackhawkltd.com with photos of the damage.

If a shipment appears lost (no delivery scan after expected delivery date), contact us and we will open a carrier trace. Most carrier claims are resolved within 5–10 business days.
