How It Works

The Transfer
Process

Buying a firearm online from another dealer? We accept incoming FFL transfers and coordinate everything from receiving to pickup.

Provide Our FFL

Give the seller our FFL number (5-84-035-01-9A-17323). We can email our FFL copy directly to them on request.

Firearm Ships to Us

The seller ships to our address. We'll notify you when it arrives and is ready for transfer processing.

Complete Paperwork

Visit us with valid government-issued ID. Complete ATF Form 4473 and the Colorado CBI InstaCheck background check ($15 fee).

Background Check & Pickup

Once approved, Colorado's 3-day waiting period begins. After the waiting period, pay the transfer fee and take possession of your firearm.

Not prohibited under 18 U.S.C. § 922(g)
Must be the actual transferee (no straw purchases)

Transfer Fees

Handgun / Long gun / Other firearm: $25
NFA items (suppressor, SBR, SBS, AOW — Form 4): $50
Each additional firearm on the same Form 4473: $15
Shipments from a private (non-FFL) seller outside Colorado: +$25
In-state private party transfer: $10 + $15 CBI InstaCheck
Colorado CBI InstaCheck: $15 (state-mandated, charged separately — one check per Form 4473, not per firearm)
LEO / Military: $5 off with valid credentials
No charge for first 30 days of storage; $5/day after 30 days

Colorado Law

Minimum 3-day waiting period (C.R.S. § 18-12-115) — no exceptions
Background check through CBI InstaCheck required
Magazine limit: 15 rounds (C.R.S. § 18-12-302) — magazines over 15 rounds cannot be transferred in Colorado
Colorado residents: contact us before shipping a semiautomatic firearm covered by SB25-003
ERPO holders cannot receive transfers
All transfers documented and retained 20 years (ATF requirement)

NFA Transfers

Before Your
NFA Appointment

We accept incoming shipments from any state. We transfer to Colorado residents only.

Fingerprints — bring your .EFT file

An .EFT is a digital fingerprint file. If you bring one, there is no fingerprinting charge and nothing has to be mailed to ATF — the fastest path to approval.
You can get one from any commercial live-scan fingerprinting service or a Silencer Shop kiosk. Save the file — it works for every future NFA application you file.
No .EFT? We can take your fingerprints and photo here and mail them to ATF for $50 per responsible person. Filing as a trust? This applies to each responsible person.

Photo & What to Bring

We take your 2×2 photo at the appointment. No charge, nothing to bring.
Valid government-issued photo ID
If filing as a trust or legal entity: the trust documents, and every responsible person present or their fingerprints and information ready

What Happens Next

We prepare and submit your eForm 4 at this appointment. The item stays with us until ATF approves the transfer.
ATF's current reported median for individual eForm 4 approvals is about two weeks, though timing varies by application.
We contact you the day approval comes through and schedule your pickup.
The federal transfer tax for suppressors and short-barreled firearms is $0 as of January 1, 2026 — you pay only our $50 transfer fee plus the $15 state background check.
